    Hello Mr. Villanueva,
Beautiful site! I will be performing Taps, for the first time, at a Veterans Day Ceremony on 11-11-13. Wish me luck!

Jari I appreciate the website very much. I am doing research myself for my History project on the Civil War. Your bibliography has helped me tremendously on my project. Thanks for all the hard work on this and keeping the good fight!

Many moons ago, 1995 to be exact, I was stationed at Ft. McClelland, AL. There was an older gentleman who would often come around my office. I worked for the Post Chaplain so was close to the Post HQ. The gentleman always had his bugle with him and one time showed me news articles about him as he had been a bugle boy during WWII. I have tried, without success, to find his name again. Is there a way that I might be able to find out who this wonderful gentleman was?

Thank you for any assistance you might be able to give me.

Having retired from the U.S. Air Force and also a bugler I have had to break the “Bad” news to many people that the great story of Cap. Ellicombe and his Confederate son was NOT true. As so do all of us I still get questions about this story and my answer is “It’s a great story, but it just “ain’t so”.

Thanks you for the information. I am researching for a paper in my Military History course. I’m taking a look at the history and significance of the bugle within battle and structure of the US military. I have been amazed at the impact one small instrument can have. Your site was a wealth of information. Thanks so much and God bless.

Dear Sirs, I am a bugle collector for some time now . About 3 years ago I bought a bugle from a young lady who I have not been able to get back in touch with. I was told it was one captured and recaptured in Vietnam. It is French clarion d’ ordonnance that has been beat up , but expertly repaired. It has been overly polished and has no makers mark. But it is enscribed “VIETNAM” has the “AIRBORNE” over the screaming eagle patch and”68-69″ is enscribed. The young lady said she had paper work to verify this along with the tuneable mouthpiece tube which it was missing. I never heard from her again. I can not get in touch with the young lady. How can I tell if this is authentic and weather or not I got taken for my $500. If you send me an e-mail I can send you back pictures of it….Thanks for your time……Glenn
