MAY GOD ALWAYS BLESS AMERICA. It’s a song that brings tears to my eyes. May they all rest in peace

Your dedication is greatly appreciated by all of us who have lost someone who served in the uniformed services of our great country. Thank you for your service and this wonderful web site.

Once again I am coming to your site for accurate reporting on TAPS. You can view the article at Baltimore Crime Victim Examiner. I hope you approve and at the site above, dedicated to my son, also a USAF veteran.

    God bless you.

I have been playing trumpet since 1950. Among my horns is a 75 year old Rexcraft U.S. Regulation Bugle. In adduition to playing for military funerals I play every year for Memorial Day observances, Veterans Day Ceremonies, Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremonies, the USS Maine commemoration (we have the bow shield of the ship here in Bangor), and for military unit reunions. I prefer NOT to play Echo Taps because in my OPINION, it takes away the solemn solitude of the original intent. I also am unhappy about the use of the Bose digital bugle, though in understand that on some occasions a live bugler may not be found, but it cannot convey the human touch and is too often “played” by people who have no experience in playing trumpet whatsoever. I’m also the “”official”” bugler for the local chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association which made me an honorary member. They told me that because i was in military training durin the last 2 years of the Korean War (ROTC) I am considered a legitimate member though I never was in Korea. A great honor to play the last “”goodbye” for our veterans and I play it very slowly, holdiong the final note for at least 8 beats, or more, if I can, letting the sound just fade away.

I have only played Taps 10 or 12 time at a funeral, so that tells all that I’m very new. I have a question, not a hard one but something I would like to find out. What is the name of the cord that wraps the bugle and where is it sold most of the time.

I am a proud member of “Veterans Honor Guard of Washtenaw Co. Mich.”

Thank you for your service to our nation.

Where can I get a recording on CD of TAPS? I especially like the rendition by Mr. Villanueva.

Thank you for seeing that a beautiful recognition is to carried on into the future.
I work for a cemetery and have heard numerous times and still tears come to my eyes as I think of the sacrifices made so that I can live as I do – with liberty and freedom for all in the greatest country on earth! Thank You to all Veterans!

I am 57 years old and played the trumpet in high school at many many Memorial day services last getting it out of the attic in 1971..I never had the honor or priviledge to serve BUT both Mom and Dad were and are WWII veterans..Recently while chatting at a local fitness center a friend of mine Eddie active and commander of the local Legion was telling me about them no longer having a live bugler for Taps using an electronic horn instead…Taps always was very meaningful to me especially at Dads military funeral 11 years ago Mon now 87 still going strong …So I agreed to first go home to see if I could find the trumpet in the attic, secondly was it even in working order, and lastly could I still actually play it..?? Much to my surprise I still could…So ends or begins the story and now I have ressurected something from my past I NEVER thought I would ever do again and it means more to me now than it ever has in the past…..I am Proud to honor our nations veterans who so gallantly served and provided us our freedom as we know it today….Wished I was fully retired I would travel and do this for any veteran anywhere anytime……..In Appreciation…..Jeffrey L.Minnich Sr. Lehighton,Pa.18235

Always moving. My Father and husband were career Navy men and “Taps” has always had a special place in my heart.

Looking forward to playing with you in Charleston. I do taps at funerals regularly. What do you play at Confederate memorials?
