This week will be an exciting one as I am involved with many events surrounding the 200th Anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner which was written early in the the morning of Sept 14th, 1814
Weds 10 SEPT-I’m visiting the Baltimore Symphony to listen to a rehearsal of the Orchestral transcription I did of “Ode To The Star-Spangled Banner” by Ferde Grofé which will be played by the BSO on September 20.

Thurs 11 SEPT-Patterson Park/Battle Acre March of the 175th. Joint 229th/MDDF Band will support. This will be followed by ceremony at Battle Acre on North Point Road. I will sound Taps at that ceremony and a British Bugler will sound Last Post.
Fri 12 SEPT– I am sounding Taps in the morning at a ceremony for the MD State Department of Natural Resources at North Point Park on the 200th anniversary of the Battle of North Point followed later by another ceremony for the National Anthem Bicentennial Commission at Ft McHenry. The MDNGHG is providing a colors team.
Sat 13 SEPT– Concert at Ft McHenry at 2 PM. Joint 229th/MDDF Band will support. This will be a concert of patriotic and Star-Spangled Banner related music
Sun 14 SEPT –The MDDF Band will return Ft McHenry in the morning for flag raising. General Colin Powell is the keynote speaker for the event
Sun 14 SEPT– I’m conducting a concert of brass music with some fellow brass colleagues at Our Lady of Angels Chapel in Catonsville, MD at 3 PM
